The Growth Center @ AANM is seeking applicants for opportunities geared towards immigrant artists and entrepreneurs in the Metro Detroit area. Application deadline is fast approaching.

The New York Foundation for the Arts (NYFA) has partnered with The Growth Center @ AANM for the Immigrant Artist Mentoring Program: Detroit.

The program, running March - June 2018, offers Detroit-based immigrant artists from all disciplines (performing, literary, visual, multi-disciplinary, folk and traditional arts) the opportunity to focus on their creative practice and gain support and exposure for their work while upholding their distinct cultural identities. Featured topics will include strategic planning, finance, law, marketing and fundraising.

The program is competitive and provided free of charge to accepted participants. The application deadline is 5 p.m. Monday, Jan. 29, 2018; refugees are encouraged to apply.

Presented in collaboration with the Arab American National Museum (AANM), Creative Many, Allied Media Projects, Global Detroit and Powerhouse Productions, the program consists of two weekend-long entrepreneurial boot camps, one-on-one mentoring, informal gatherings and individual follow-up consultations. All classes, workshops and meetings will be conducted in English.
