Overview
AMP-Chicago, a national education and advocacy organization, is seeking a local Education Coordinator to lead the chapter’s educational efforts and programs.

This is part-time position, with a possibility of becoming full-time for the right candidate.

Job Duties:

1. Research, compile and prepare lecture material in a lecturing format

2. Study AMP education material and modify lecture series as needed

3. Present material to SJPs, MSA, other college students and high school students at different settings

4. Initiate and coordinate educational programs for college students, youth, activists and volunteers

5. Train students on the history of Palestine so that they are well equipped with facts and tools to combat Zionist rhetoric

6. Provide SJPs and MSAs with resources and speakers whenever available

7. Coordinate with Islamic full-time and weekend schools and institutions to host our lectures

8. Train and coordinate with speakers

9. Call for and run education committee meetings. Send minutes and follow up on action items

10. Work on the CAT tracK before and during the AMP national conference

11. Work on and market the I Love Palestine magazine

Qualifications:

1. Successful candidate will be a reliable self-starter and enterprising individual who can set and meet goals and deadlines

2. Has good knowledge and/or is willing to learn about the cause and history of Palestine

3. Good communications and public relations skills

4. Non-profit work or volunteer experience

5. Previous experience with planning and/or coordinating events, committees and meetings

6. Ability to present, lecture and speak in class room settings and in public

7. Ability to speak Arabic a plus

8. Ability and availability to work a flexible schedule, including late evenings as well as weekends.

Compensation:

According to skills, qualifications and schedule.
