The Jerusalem Fund, a 501(c)(3)-registered private non-profit organization based in Washington, D.C., announces a position available as Grants and Accounting Associate. The Associate processes grant applications and communicates with grantees; organizes fundraising mailings and correspondence with donors; helps to maintain accounts; and maintains accurate records and databases. S/he reports to the Executive Director and works closely with program and administration staff. Read more about the organization at www.thejerusalemfund.org.

• Handles all correspondence relating to grants in the Jerusalem Fund’s Humanitarian Link program and maintains up-to-date files
• Prepares grants submissions for the Director’s review and consideration by the Board
• Communicates decisions to grantees and follows up on disbursement
• Ensures timely submission of grantee reports and financial accounts
• Maintains Humanitarian Link section of the website with updated information and creates brochures and presentations for fundraising purposes

• Helps draft fundraising letters
• Produces and mails out fundraising appeals
• Maintains donor database, coordinates tiered donor program
• Records and deposits donations and generates reports, liaising with accountant and auditors as necessary
• Sends timely thank you and tax relief letters
• Maintains state registrations and all non-profit status related paperwork
• Applies for Grants in Coordination with Program Manager

Accounts and Administration
• Maintains accounts for all sales and petty cash
• Assists in check writing and maintaining bank records, generating reports and liaising with accountant and auditors as necessary
• Manages the annual audit process
• Maintains passwords to general server and individual computers, functions as primary contact person for all technical maintenance of staff computers
• Insures timely filing of and payment for the Fund’s three insurance policies

• B.A. (Accounting Preferred) with 1-2 years office experience.
• Strong proficiency in Quickbooks, Microsoft Office Suite (esp. Excel) and Social Media
• Functional understanding of budgets and banking procedures
• Familiarity with donor databases, such as Mission Assist
• Extremely organized and detail oriented a MUST
• Strong spoken and written English skills, Arabic language fluency strongly preferred
