Overview
The Arab American Association of New York (AAANY) is a 501(c) (3) not-for-profit social service organization located in Brooklyn, New York. Our mission is to support and empower the Arab-American and immigrant community by providing services that will help them to adjust to their new homeland and become active members of society. Our aim is for families to achieve the ultimate goals of independence, productivity, and stability.

Development Intern
The Development Internship provides an excellent to get hands-on experience with a dynamic nonprofit working with the Arab immigrant community. This is excellent preparation for a career in nonprofit management, fundraising and work in immigrant or low-income urban communities. The intern will have the opportunity to learn about grant reporting requirements and play an integral role in helping the organization achieve its goals.

Advocacy and Civic Engagement Intern
The ACE Intern will work closely with the Advocacy and Civil Engagement Coordinator and the Youth Lead Organizer. The intern will aim to engage youth and members of our community to advocate for imperative issues and for their individual rights. Also, organize and present advocacy workshops, assist with voters' registration, attend various advocacy events, assist with planning for AWAL (Arab Women Activist & Leaders) group, Take On Hate and manage social media.

Arab Women Activists and Leaders (AWAL) Intern
The Arab Women Activists and Leaders (AWAL) Intern will be a part of the Advocacy and Civic Engagement (ACE) team. The AWAL Intern will focus on assisting the Lead Organizer in providing advocacy tools to immigrant Arab/or Muslim women.

Adult Education Teaching and Curriculum Intern
The Adult Education Teaching Internship provides an excellent opportunity for educators and aspiring educators to engage and hone their skills in classroom teaching and curriculum development. Our Adult Education program serves adults seeking to learn English and improve their literacy skills. The intern will gain extensive experience and knowledge related to lesson planning and teaching English to Speakers of Other Languages (ESOL).

Islamophobia Intern for Take on Hate Campaign
The Islamophobia Intern for Take on Hate campaign will primarily work with the Advocacy and Civic Engagement (ACE) team on Take on Hate campaigns. The Take on Hate Intern will focus on educating and informing youth about Islamophobia and help them identify ways in which to combat Islamophobia in their communities by providing and compiling tools and resources to be available and accessible to them.

Event Management Intern
The Event Management Internship provides an excellent opportunity to get hands on experience with a dynamic non-profit working with the Arab immigrant community. This is excellent preparation for a career in project management and work in immigrant or low-income urban communities. The intern will have an active role in planning and executing three main events. the intern will work to ensure the success of the annual Arab American Bazaar, Annual Gala, and Mother's Day event.
